DC Metro Area Star Wars Collecting Club

The year 2018 marks the club's 15th Anniversary and we'd like to do something special to celebrate the occasion. The actual birthday is this fall, so we're looking at a late summer event. If you have ideas, please post them here (or raise them at a meeting). A banquet (a la the 10th Anniversary) or a picnic are obvious options, but we'd like to do something special and welcome input from all members.

On a related note, do any of our artist members have time to come up with a 15th anniversary club logo? @Jeff @Indy @Laura

Sure. I'll give it a go.

Our recent idea for a location & event for our 15th anniversary fell through. WE NEED SUGGESTIONS for locations and formats! Otherwise we will end up with the same old potluck picnic type event. The exact date of our anniversary is Sept. 13th, that's why we're looking at Saturday Sept. 15th for the event.

As of now, our plan is to have a lunchtime potluck at the Kentlands' Clubhouse in Gaithersburg MD on Saturday, Sept. 15th. THANK YOU to Charley for finding this location and offering to cover the hourly charge for us.

There's still time to book a different venue, if anyone has a better idea that would (for example)
be more centrally located (Silver Spring is the geographic center of our members' homes); and
provide a semi-private room; and
(ideally) provide some level of catering; and
cost us no more than $20 per person.

We are all ears so let's hear your suggestions ASAP! (Feel free to contact the board at board@dcswcc.com, or any individual board member if you prefer)

Whether or not you're joining us for paintball on Sept 29th, make your way to Martin's house in Ashburn for our 15th Anniversary Social.  Please do not arrive before 1:00pm, because the host will not be home yet!   

The cost will be $10 per person to cover the main course (Chick-fil-A nuggets and strips).
